SLAB AND WALL FRL UPGRADES
The redevelopment and refurbishment of existing buildings is common in cities throughout Australia. Often, as part of the construction process in refurbishing existing buildings there is a need to strengthen and upgrade structural systems to improve the fire performance of the building to meet current Building Code provisions.
At AFR, we have established processes in place to upgrade concrete/masonry walls and slabs to enhance their fire performance via nationally tested systems and installations. This is achieved via the application and installation of the following products.
VERMICULITE OR ‘POP CORN’CEILINGS
Vermiculite was a widely used product in the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. It was commonly applied to ceilings of apartments, homes, schools and offices as a cost effective and decorative finish. It was used to provide an aesthetic textured finish that also provided an element of sound and fireproofing whilst also concealing imperfections in the ceiling substrate.
AFR provides a skilled service in providing a vermiculite coating to match existing ‘pop corn’ ceilings, reinstate and renew damaged ceilings or apply as new where called up.
