Australian Fire Rating is committed to providing cost effective and practical solutions for the fire protection of mechanical duct work. We aim to complete a job within time and constraints with approved and accredited products backed by Promat Australia, Trafalgar and TBA Firefly. The Building Code of Australia mandates that the fire protection of ducts conforms with it’s requirements and Australian Building Standards AS 1530.4-2014 & AS 1668.1-2015. Some Duct systems require fire protection to prevent the initial spread of fire between compartments and also the rapid spread of smoke throughout a building, Ducts that are deemed to require fire protection typically include but are not limited:

  • STAIR PRESSURE
  • SMOKE SPILL AND LOBBY RELIEF
  • FIRE CONTROL ROOM
  • GENERATOR ROOM

FIRE PROOFING APPLICATIONS

PROMASPRAY P300 is a spray applied, single package factory controlled premix based on vermiculite and gypsum. PROMASPRAY P300 is a lightweight coating that provides very efficient and cost effective fire resistance to Kitchen Exhaust and air handling ductwork up to 2 Hours.
PROMAT L500 board which is used for self supporting Ducts for ventilation and smoke extraction systems. It is a highly durable and resilient product.
TRAFALGAR FyreWrap is a fast, cost effective and clean fireproofing method that offers fire protection while providing pleasing aesthetics. The product offers up to 3 Hours Fire protection and can be installed in situ or prior to the duct install.
